Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council are seeking a dedicated professional to join their dynamic and supportive Adult Learning Disabilities Team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment that prioritizes the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2007, all while maintaining a strong, person-centered, strength-based approach.
The Role
As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality services to adults, carers, and families. You will work autonomously and collaboratively to promote independence and safeguard the most vulnerable members of our community.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment & Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of need in line with National Guidance and Social Work England codes of practice.
Case Management: Develop and implement support plans, acting as a key worker to ensure assessed needs are met effectively.
Partnership Working: Collaborate closely with service users, families, and multi-agency partners (statutory, voluntary, and independent).
Safeguarding: Identify risks and manage safeguarding investigations, ensuring "Making Safeguarding Personal" principles are upheld.
Complex Casework: Handle complex cases, including court work and vulnerable adult investigations.
About You
We are looking for an experienced practitioner who is organized, resilient, and passionate about adult welfare.
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with valid Social Work England registration.
Strong knowledge of the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act.
Experience in Adult Social Care (specifically Learning Disabilities is preferred).
Ability to manage risk effectively and maintain high professional standards.
A commitment to a strength-based approach and promoting independence.
