The Opportunity
Are you an adaptable and experienced Social Worker looking for a fast-paced role in Mental Health? Darlington Borough Council is seeking two motivated agency professionals to join the Adult and Older People's Mental Health Team based at West Park Hospital.
This is a critical role covering short-term absence, offering the chance to work within a highly collaborative Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) environment to support individuals with varying levels of complexity.
Key Responsibilities
Statutory Assessments: Complete comprehensive assessments under the Care Act 2014 to identify and meet the needs of service users.
Caseload Management: Hold and manage an active caseload of adults and older people, ensuring high standards of person-centred care.
MDT Collaboration: Work alongside Secondary Mental Health Services and other professionals in an integrated MDT approach to improve well-being and maintain mental health.
Reviews & Duty: Complete annual reviews and actively contribute to the office duty rota.
Crisis Intervention: Support the team in high-pressure crisis situations, often requiring joint working and quick decision-making.
The Ideal Candidate
Qualified Social Worker: Must have a recognized Social Work degree and current registration with Social Work England.
Mental Health Experience: Proven experience working with adults or older people within a mental health setting is highly desirable.
Legislation Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act.
Pace & Complexity: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage cases with varying degrees of risk and complexity.
Team Player: A commitment to joint working and supporting colleagues during duty and crisis periods.
