About the Role
North Tyneside Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Practitioner to join our dedicated Cared For Teams. This is a pivotal role designed for a social work professional who thrives on delivering excellence in practice while supporting the growth of others.
You will play a leading role in ensuring that children and young people in our care receive the highest standard of support, stability, and advocacy. As an Advanced Practitioner, you will balance high-level clinical practice with a mentoring role, helping to shape the quality of social work across the team.

Expert Practice: Manage a small, complex caseload involving high-level risk and intricate family dynamics, providing a model of "best practice" for the service.
Mentorship & Support: Act as a practice lead, providing formal and informal supervision, coaching, and mentoring to Social Workers and newly qualified practitioners (ASYE).
Quality Assurance: Lead on practice development, ensuring that care plans and assessments are robust, person-centered, and compliant with statutory requirements.
Permanency Planning: Drive forward permanency for children and young people, ensuring their voices are central to every decision made.
Collaboration: Work closely with Team Managers to identify service improvements and foster a culture of continuous learning.
What We're Looking For
Registration: Current registration with Social Work England.
Experience: Significant post-qualifying experience within Cared For/Looked After Children services.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead by example, with the confidence to challenge practice and drive improvements.
Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, foster carers, and multi-agency partners.
