The Role:
As an Advanced Practitioner in a Locality Team, you will hold a complex and varied caseload, providing expert social work assessment, intervention, and support to individuals and families with diverse needs. You will also play a key role in mentoring and supporting less experienced social workers within the team. This will involve:
- Undertaking highly complex assessments, including multi-agency risk assessments and safeguarding enquiries for adults and/or children (depending on the specific team's focus).
- Developing, implementing, and reviewing person-centred care plans that promote independence, choice, and well-being.
- Providing expert advice and consultation to colleagues on complex cases and professional dilemmas.
- Mentoring and providing practice guidance to Social Workers, newly qualified social workers (NQSWs), and students.
- Leading on specific projects or areas of development within the team or service.
- Representing the service in multi-agency meetings and forums.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of services through participation in audits, reviews, and policy development.
- Maintaining accurate, analytical, and timely case records.
About You:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Social Worker with:
- A recognised Social Work qualification.
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- Minimum 3 years post-qualifying experience in a relevant social work setting (e.g., adults' services, children's services, MASH, safeguarding, community teams), demonstrating a strong understanding of relevant legislation and best practice.
- Demonstrable experience of managing complex caseloads and making high-level professional judgements.
- Experience in mentoring, supervising, or providing practice guidance to others.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Superior communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with service users, families, and professionals.
- A strong commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a car for business use (or ability to travel efficiently across the borough).
