Oldham Council are seeking dedicated Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHPs) to join their Community Mental Health Team on a permanent, full time basis.
As part of a supportive and collaborative local authority, you'll play a vital role in delivering high-quality mental health services across the borough. You'll be working alongside experienced social workers, mental health professionals, and our wider Adult Social Care team.
Salary: £41,511 - £45,718

Responsibilities:
Provide a responsive and effective AMHP service under the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended)
Undertake MHA assessments, ensuring they are completed in line with legal requirements and best practice
Support individuals through holistic assessments under the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005
Manage a complex caseload, balancing urgent statutory duties with longer-term support planning
Work closely with multi-agency partners including health, police, housing and voluntary services
Experience
Qualified and practising AMHP, registered with Social Work England
Proven experience in a similar statutory adult mental health setting (ideally 2+ years)
Strong understanding of the Mental Health Act, Care Act, and Mental Capacity Act
A commitment to strengths-based, person-centred practice
Excellent communication and decision-making skills
