Randstad is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join the Out of Hours service in Hillingdon. This is a critical role for a dedicated professional to provide a crucial response to mental health crises outside of standard working hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Mental Health Act assessments and make decisions on the need for compulsory admission to hospital.
- Respond to urgent referrals and crisis situations under the Mental Health Act 1983.
- Work autonomously to coordinate with relevant agencies, including the police and ambulance services.
- Provide advice and support to service users, carers, and other professionals.
- Ensure all actions are in line with the Mental Health Act Code of Practice and human rights legislation.
- Manage and de-escalate high-pressure situations with professionalism and expertise.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP).
- AMHP qualification and current registration with Social Work England (or equivalent professional body).
- A thorough and up-to-date knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 and other relevant legislation.
- Excellent crisis management, decision-making, and communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a small, dedicated team during unsociable hours.
