We have an exciting opportunity for a highly capable and experienced Accounts Payable (AP) Manager to join our Client's finance team. This role is instrumental in ensuring the smooth, controlled, and efficient running of our Accounts Payable function.
As the Accounts Payable Manager, you will focus on leadership, control, and driving efficiency across the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directly manage and motivate a team of two AP Clerks, focusing on their professional development.
- Prioritize and direct the team's efforts toward resolving old debt issues.
- Conduct regular team meetings and provide training for new employees.
- Provide cover for AP Clerk absences and manage high-level query resolution.
- Deliver weekly progress updates to the Finance Director (FD).
- Oversee and continually streamline the entire AP function to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Run daily aged creditor reports and manage payment runs according to the schedule.
- Improve team coordination and enhance communication with suppliers, buyers, and site personnel.
- Oversee statement reconciliation and maintain a controlled environment within AP.
- Analyze and allocate the team's workload effectively.
What We're Looking For
- Essential experience supervising an Accounts Payable team.
- Excellent communication, highly organized, self-motivated, and proficient in implementing new processes.
- Familiarity with both sub-contractor and supplier ledgers is a distinct advantage.
- Experience with COINs is highly desirable.
- A strong motivator who thrives under pressure and possesses a solid educational background.
