The Role
A vibrant secondary school in Leeds is seeking a dedicated Art & Design and Graphic Products Teacher to join their Creative Arts faculty immediately. This is a full-time, ongoing position designed for an educator who is as comfortable with a paintbrush as they are with CAD software. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering a love for aesthetics while maintaining the technical rigour required for Graphic Products. Requirements
... - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Understanding of GCSE marking criteria and moderation
- Eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities
- Curriculum Delivery: Planning and teaching the Graphic Products syllabus at KS3 and KS4.
- Technical Instruction: Teaching the design cycle, from initial sketching to final prototyping.
- Software Literacy: Utilising Adobe Creative Suite (Photo shop/Illustrator) or 2D Design software.
- Workshop Safety: Ensuring all health and safety protocols are met within the design lab.
- Resource Management: Maintaining equipment and ordering consumables (foam board, vinyl, etc.).
- Industry Context: Linking classroom projects to real-world careers in branding and architecture.
- Marking & Feedback: Providing constructive, timely critiques to refine student designs.
- Progress Tracking: Monitoring student data to ensure all learners meet their targets.
- Parental Engagement: Participating in parents' evenings to discuss student portfolios.
- Collaborative Planning: Working with the DT department to share best practices and resources.
