Roles and Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive and timely social care assessments for children, young people, and their families, identifying needs and risks.
Gather information from various sources, including families, professionals, and other agencies, to inform assessment outcomes.
Undertake Child in Need, Child Protection, and Section 47 enquiries in accordance with statutory guidance and local procedures.
Develop clear and concise assessment reports that inform decision-making regarding interventions and support plans.
Work collaboratively with children, families, and other professionals to develop effective care plans that meet identified needs.
Attend and contribute to various meetings, including Child Protection Conferences, Child in Need meetings, and strategy discussions.
Provide advice, guidance, and support to children and families, empowering them to address challenges and improve outcomes.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and well-organized case records in line with local policies and procedures.
Participate in supervision, training, and continuous professional development opportunities to enhance practice.
Adhere to all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, including those relating to safeguarding and child protection.
Key Requirements:
You must be a qualified Social Worker.
Social Care England registration is essential.
An updated DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check is required.
Proven experience in undertaking assessments within a children's social care setting is highly desirable.
Strong analytical and assessment skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse individuals.
A thorough understanding of relevant legislation, guidance, and best practices in children's social care.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
A commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children and young people.
