Role: Social Worker - Asylum Through Care Team
Location: Redcar, North Yorkshire (Seafield House, Kirkleatham St)
Rate: £31.74 per hour (Agency/Temp/Locum)
Hours: Full-time (Hybrid mode)
About the Role
You will support unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC) and care leavers, guiding them through age assessments, care plans, and transition to independence. Your work will be pivotal in ensuring their safety, well-being, and integration into the UK.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct thorough assessments for UASC and care-leaving young people (e.g., needs, age).
Develop and implement Pathway Plans and transition care plans to support independent living.
Provide direct support, advice, and advocacy, enabling access to services such as legal, education, health, and immigration.
Coordinate with multi-agency partners and represent children at LAC/pathway reviews.
Maintain accurate records, prepare high-quality reports, and ensure statutory compliance (Children Act, immigration law).
Essential Requirements
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
Experience in statutory children's social work-especially UASC or care leavers.
Strong knowledge of relevant legislation: Children Act 1989, Leaving Care Act, asylum regulations.
Excellent analytical, communication, and organisational skills. Cultural sensitivity, resilience, and empathy are vital.
