We are partnering with a global leader in the Commercial Insurance sector to find a highly technical, hands-on AWS Solutions Architect. We need a "player-coach" who can design enterprise-scale systems, navigate architectural governance, and write the Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to prove concepts before handing them off to delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Prototype: Create cloud-native, serverless solutions on AWS (Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, API Gateway).
- Hands-On Coding: Write robust IaC using AWS CDK (TypeScript or Python) to validate designs and create standardized blueprints.
- Enterprise Governance: Guide solutions through the Architecture Review Board (ARB), ensuring strict adherence to security, DR, and integration standards.
- Technical Leadership: Coach offshore development and DevOps teams on AWS best practices, observability (Datadog/Splunk), and event-driven architectures.
- Production Support: Operate a multi-cloud environment, providing high-level support for production systems and ensuring regulatory compliance.
What You Bring to the Table
- 12+ years of IT experience with a strong background transitioning from software engineering to architecture.
- Deep expertise in AWS Serverless architectures and modern event-driven integration patterns.
- Hands-on proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js or Python, with significant experience using AWS CDK.
- A solid understanding of the Commercial Insurance domain (Underwriting, Policies, Claims, or Billing).
- Must hold a minimum of an AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification.
- Proven experience navigating complex governance in large, regulated enterprise environments.
