About the Role
As an Azure Cloud Engineer with a strong BAU focus, you'll be instrumental in maintaining, optimising, and ensuring the smooth operation of our Azure infrastructure. This is a hands-on technical role where you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management and support of our cloud environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Perform daily operational tasks, including monitoring, patching, and troubleshooting of Azure infrastructure components (e.g., Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, Storage Accounts, Azure Active Directory).
- Incident Resolution: Respond to and resolve incidents related to Azure infrastructure, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
- Performance Optimisation: Monitor and analyse Azure resource usage and performance, identifying and implementing optimisations to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure Azure resources adhere to security policies and compliance standards, implementing necessary controls and participating in audits.
- Automation: Develop and maintain automation scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Azure CLI, ARM templates) to streamline routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
What We're Looking For
- Proven Azure Expertise: Extensive experience with a wide range of Azure services, with a strong focus on IaaS and PaaS components.
- Infrastructure Focus: Solid understanding of core infrastructure concepts, including networking, virtualisation, storage, and identity management within an Azure context.
- Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Azure CLI, and experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform).
- Independent Worker: Ability to work autonomously, manage priorities, and deliver results with minimal supervision.
- Financial Services Experience: Experience working within the Financial Services sector is highly desirable. Understanding of the regulatory and compliance demands within this industry will be a significant advantage.
- Certifications: Relevant Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are a plus.
