Our client, a highly-regarded and Ofsted rated Outstanding private day nursery, is seeking an exceptional individual to join their team. They provide outstanding care and education for children from birth to five years, with their baby room offering a warm, stimulating, and safe environment where the youngest learners can truly flourish. They pride themselves on a child-centred approach, strong parent partnerships, and a supportive, friendly staff team.
Your New Role as Baby Room Senior
As a permanent Baby Room Senior, you'll be a key leader, inspiring your team and ensuring the highest standards of care and education for infants. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading by example and mentoring junior staff within the baby room.
- Overseeing the planning and implementation of a rich, stimulating, and age-appropriate curriculum for babies, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Ensuring the safety, well-being, and individual needs of all children in the baby room are met.
- Building strong, positive relationships with parents, providing regular feedback on their child's progress and development.
- Maintaining accurate records and observations for each child.
- Working collaboratively with the wider nursery team to ensure a cohesive and high-quality provision across the setting.
- Adhering to all nursery policies and procedures, including health and safety and safeguarding.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will be:
- Qualified to at least Level 3 Early Years Practitioner (or equivalent).
- Able to demonstrate proven experience in a senior or leadership role within an early years setting, specifically within a baby room or with infant age groups.
- Equipped with an in-depth knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Able to show excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Passionate about working with babies and committed to their holistic development.
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage time effectively.
- Hold a valid Paediatric First Aid certificate (desirable, but training can be provided).
- Possess a sound understanding of safeguarding children.
