The Vegner Group is a property service group established in 1991. With over 30 years' experience the business specialises in the management of blocks of flats and offers other related services such as insurance broking, lettings management, surveying, company secretarial and the provision of concierge staff. The group has revenues of approximately £46m, and has over 500 employees, 180 of which are based at clients' buildings. We also administer the employment (payroll and HR support) for a further 150-200 staff employed directly by our clients.
Headquartered in Richmond the group operates from 18 locations across England. The highest concentration of staff is in the Southeast of England.
Role Purpose
The Business Development Manager role is to drive and support the Vision 2025 strategy by leading efforts to attract and secure new business, establishing this as a core component of our strategic growth. This pivotal position will identify, develop, and cultivate new client relationships, leveraging market insights to align prospective partnerships with our long-term goals. By expanding our client base, the Business Development Manager will strengthen our market presence and revenue streams, ensuring we achieve the strategic milestones of Vision 2025. This role demands a proactive, sales approach, with a focus on sustainable growth through targeted opportunities, which is essential to our success in a competitive landscape.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and Implement Business Strategies - Create and execute business development strategies to meet revenue and growth targets in alignment with Vision 2025.
- Identify and Pursue New Business Opportunities - Conduct market research to uncover potential clients, emerging trends, and new opportunities; actively pursue leads and assess partnership prospects.
- Build and Maintain Client Relationships - Establish and nurture long-term relationships with clients and stakeholders to foster trust, loyalty, and repeat business opportunities.
- Manage the Sales Pipeline - Develop and manage a sales pipeline from lead generation through closing, ensuring accurate forecasting and progress toward revenue targets.
- Collaborate Across Teams = Work closely with marketing, and operational teams to create tailored client solutions and coordinate resources for successful project delivery.
- Conduct Competitor and Market Analysis - Analyse competitor activities and industry trends to maintain a competitive edge and anticipate client needs.
- Develop and Deliver Sales Presentations and Proposals - Prepare compelling presentations, proposals, and pitches that communicate the company's value proposition effectively.
- Negotiate Contracts and Close Deals - Lead contract negotiations to secure beneficial terms, aiming to close deals that align with strategic objectives.
- Monitor and Report Performance - Track key metrics related to new business acquisition and client retention, providing regular performance reports to senior leadership.
- Continuous Improvement - Identify and implement improvements in the business development process based on data insights and market feedback, ensuring alignment with Vision 2025 goals.
- CRM Management - Accurate reporting in CRM from initial query to sales completion. Inclusive of regular reporting on work in progress.
Person Profile / Skill Set
Essential
- Proven working experience as a business development manager, sales executive or a relevant role
- Ability to build rapport
- Proven sales track record
- Well-developed interpersonal and oral communication skills
- Market knowledge
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Diplomacy and negotiation skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure
- Full and clean driver's license
