Job Summary
Working within the statutory framework to deliver services to children and young people who are looked after.
Focusing on achieving permanence and stability for children, either through reunification, Special Guardianship Orders, or adoption.
Preparing and presenting reports for statutory reviews, court hearings, and planning meetings.
Collaborating with a wide range of professionals, including foster carers, schools, health services, and external agencies.
Holding a manageable and varied caseload, prioritising effective time management and decision-making.
Duties and Responsibilities
Undertake comprehensive assessments of children and their families to inform effective care planning.
Formulate, implement, and review personalised Care Plans for children, ensuring their voice is heard throughout the process.
Provide direct support and intervention to children, promoting their health, education, and emotional well-being.
Manage complex cases, including those involving neglect, abuse, and significant life changes.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records on the designated social care database, adhering to all statutory requirements.
Participate in court proceedings by providing detailed evidence and professional recommendations.
Work collaboratively with foster carers to support placement stability and address challenges.
Attend and contribute to regular supervision, team meetings, and training sessions.
