The Opportunity
We're looking for a visionary leader to develop and implement our strategy for Children and Families services. You'll be at the forefront of innovation, ensuring we provide high-quality, inclusive services that safeguard, support, and care for our children and young people. This is a hands-on role where you'll translate the council's corporate vision into tangible action, with a focus on improving services and exploring new ideas, such as opening residential homes and reducing the number of children in care.
What You'll Do
Lead the Way: Drive the development and execution of our overall strategy for Children and Families.
Innovate & Improve: Identify trends and pioneer creative solutions to ensure an outstanding experience for those we serve.
Collaborate: Build and maintain strong relationships with a wide network of stakeholders, including health, education, and police partners.
Ensure Compliance: Uphold the highest standards of legal and regulatory compliance, including the Children's Act 1989 and 2004.
Make an Impact: Turn strategy into successful delivery, holding yourself and others accountable for positive outcomes.
What We're Looking For
Experience: A background in social work or children's services within a council setting is ideal.
Leadership: A proven track record of leading teams and driving strategic change.
Vision: The ability to think big, anticipate future challenges, and promote innovative practices.
