The Role at a Glance
Location: Multiple Secondary Schools across Plymouth.
Hours: Roughly 08:30 - 15:30 (Monday to Friday, term time).
Flexibility: We offer both long-term regular placements and flexible daily cover to fit your lifestyle.
Pay: Competitive daily rates based on experience.
What We Are Looking For
We value personality and resilience as much as previous experience. We are looking for:
Supportive Mindset: A genuine desire to assist students with diverse learning needs, including SEND or SEMH.
ECTs & Graduates Welcome: This is an excellent way for Early Career Teachers to gain varied experience or for graduates to build a portfolio before applying for teacher training.
Strong Communication: The ability to explain tasks clearly and build rapport with students aged 11-16.
Proactive Attitude: Someone who can spot where help is needed and take initiative within the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
Providing 1:1 or small group support to students who need extra help.
Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management.
Helping to create an inclusive and encouraging learning environment.
Supporting students with their literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
