The Role
The successful applicant will operate under the guidance of senior teaching staff, stepping in to deliver pre-set, high-quality lessons and supervising whole classes. It's a role where consistency, high expectations, and a supportive presence are key to student achievement. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join a progressive academy in Leeds on a permanent basis, starting ASAP. This vital role is about maintaining the continuity and quality of education for students across Key Stages 3 and 4 during teacher absences.

Requirements
... - Proven experience working with young people, ideally within an educational setting.
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness to apply for one)

- Exceptional behaviour management and classroom control techniques.
- Strong verbal communication and ability to present clearly to groups of students.
- Ability to quickly establish fair, trusting, and constructive relationships with students.
- Proactive and committed to collaboration within a team.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail for record keeping.
- Competence in using ICT to support learning activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide cover supervision for both the long and short-term absence of teachers.
- Direct and supervise students to complete the work set, maintaining appropriate records for absent teachers.
- Deliver high-quality cover lessons and bespoke small group or one-to-one interventions.
- Actively uphold high expectations of all learners, committing to their full educational potential.
- Establish a productive, respectful, and appropriate learning environment in all lessons.
- Monitor and evaluate student responses to learning activities, providing feedback to the absent teacher.
- Carry out invigilation of internal and external examinations, assisting students with specific needs.
- Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students within the classroom and encourage co-operative work.
- Contribute to the overall ethos and aims of the academy by attending relevant meetings and training.
- Cover for Guardians (Form Tutors) when required, registering students and promoting their well-being and attendance.
