Cover Supervisor- Sefton
We are seeking confident and dynamic Cover Supervisors to join our team in secondary schools across the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be a crucial part of a school's daily operations, ensuring a consistent learning environment when a teacher is absent. You'll manage the classroom and supervise students as they complete pre-prepared work. Core Duties:
- Classroom Management: Supervising students and managing behaviour in line with the school's policy to create a positive learning environment.
- Lesson Delivery: Effectively delivering pre-prepared lessons and resources left by the absent teacher.
- Student Support: Providing guidance and support to students, answering questions about the assigned work.
- Reporting: Reporting back to the teacher on student engagement, behaviour, and any issues that arose during the lesson.
- Safeguarding: Ensuring the safety and well-being of all students in your care.
Skills & Qualifications Needed:
- Experience: Previous experience working with children or young people is essential.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to command a classroom.
- Classroom Presence: The ability to be assertive, confident, and maintain control of a classroom.
- Adaptability: The flexibility to handle new subjects and year groups, and to think on your feet.
- Safeguarding Knowledge: A solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
