Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise whole classes of Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students during the short-term absence of their regular subject teachers.
- Deliver pre-planned lessons provided by the department, ensuring students remain focused, on-task, and working safely.
- Maintain a positive, orderly, and productive classroom environment using effective behaviour management techniques in line with school policies.
- Assist students with any queries regarding the set work and provide encouragement to help them complete tasks.
- Collect completed work at the end of the lesson and leave detailed handover notes for the returning class teacher.
- Support school procedures regarding attendance, safety, and student welfare throughout the school day.
What We Look For:
- Previous experience managing, leading, or supporting groups of young people (e.g., in secondary schools, sports coaching, youth clubs, tutoring, or outdoor education).
- Excellent classroom presence, communication skills, and confidence to lead a group independently.
- A calm, authoritative, and resilient personality paired with strong interpersonal skills.
- High adaptability and a willingness to supervise lessons across a variety of secondary subjects (e.g., Science, English, PE, Humanities).
