About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Cover Supervisor to join a well-regarded secondary school in Leeds. This is a full-time, long-term position, starting immediately. The role is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for working with young people. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be a vital part of the school's daily operations, ensuring a consistent and productive learning environment for students during short-term teacher absences. You will not be responsible for lesson planning or marking, but instead, you will focus on managing the classroom, supervising pre-prepared work, and maintaining a positive and focused atmosphere. This role is a brilliant stepping stone for aspiring teachers or for anyone with experience working with young people who wants to take on a new challenge.

Requirements
- Previous experience working with young people, ideally in an educational setting.
- A genuine passion for education and supporting young people's learning.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness to apply for one)

- Strong classroom management and behaviour management abilities.
- Adaptability and flexibility to work across different subjects and year groups.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervising pre-set work and ensuring students remain on task.
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies.
- Responding to student questions and providing support with given tasks.
- Promoting a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Collecting completed work and returning it to the appropriate teacher.
- Recording and reporting student attendance.
- Providing feedback to teachers on student progress and behaviour.
- Dealing with immediate problems or emergencies in the classroom.
- Upholding the school's safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Collaborating with other staff, including teaching assistants, to support students.
