The Role
We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a well-regarded secondary school in Leeds on a full-time basis, with an immediate start. The Cover Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth continuity of education during short-term teacher absences. This is not a teaching role; your primary focus will be on managing the classroom and ensuring students remain on task with the pre-prepared work set by the absent teacher. Requirements
... - Previous experience working with young people in an educational or similar setting.
- A strong understanding of classroom management techniques.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.

- Empathy: The capacity to understand and respond to the diverse needs and backgrounds of students.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively managing the behaviour of pupils in accordance with the school's policies to ensure a positive and productive learning environment.
- Ensuring that students are engaged with and completing the pre-prepared lesson plans and exercises.
- Encouraging the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils within the classroom, ensuring everyone has equal access to learning opportunities.
- Answering student questions about processes and procedures, and providing general guidance to keep them on track.
- Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies that may arise in the classroom, following the school's established protocols.
- Providing objective and accurate feedback to the returning teacher on the conduct of the lesson and any issues that arose.
- Being aware of and complying with all school policies and procedures, with a particular focus on safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality.
- Gathering any completed work at the end of the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher.
- Acting as a positive role model and setting high expectations for student conduct and work ethic.
- Establishing constructive relationships and communicating effectively with other staff members, including teachers and teaching assistants.
