We are seeking proactive Cover Supervisors to join our team in Purfleet-on-Thames. This role is ideal for those who want to experience the classroom environment without the responsibilities of planning or marking. Your Responsibilities
- Classroom Management: Oversee secondary classes (KS3 & KS4), ensuring a safe and productive learning environment by following pre-set lesson plans.
- Behaviour Leadership: Consistently apply the school's behaviour policy, managing the room with a firm but fair approach to keep students on task.
- Student Guidance: Support students with their work, answering questions and clarifying learning objectives to ensure continuity in their education.
- Versatile Delivery: Be prepared to cover a wide range of subjects, from core lessons like English and Maths to practical subjects like PE or Drama.
- Reporting: Take accurate registers and provide detailed handover notes for the returning teacher, highlighting student progress and any notable incidents.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- Confidence & Presence: The ability to command a room of 30 students and project a professional, approachable image.
- Adaptability: A resilient "can-do" attitude and the ability to think on your feet in a fast-paced school environment.
- Communication: Strong verbal skills to deliver instructions clearly and build immediate rapport with both students and staff.
- Experience (Preferred): Prior experience working with children or young people-such as coaching, tutoring, or youth work-is highly beneficial.
- Compliance: An enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to process a new one via Randstad).
