An outstanding opportunity has been launched for a Curriculum Lead (Senior Tutor) to join a premier specialist service in Linton. In this pivotal role, you will be the lead authority on complex needs, driving the quality of education and group outcomes for learners aged 16-25. You will be responsible for creating a culture of high expectations, ensuring every young adult develops the practical life skills and confidence needed to navigate their community.
Key Leadership & Curriculum Responsibilities
- Strategic Curriculum Design: Architect and oversee bespoke learning pathways focused on the four pillars of "Preparing for Adulthood": Independent Living, Health, Community, and Employment.
- Specialist Delivery: Provide expert, sensory-informed instruction in functional skills (Maths/Literacy) tailored to the unique communication profiles of autistic learners.
- Staff Empowerment: Act as a line manager and mentor for support staff, conducting performance reviews and fostering a professional environment of shared best practices.
- Outcome Management: Lead the EHCP cycle for your cohort, ensuring that trackers and individual learning plans are accurate, ambitious, and evidence-based.
- Accreditation Oversight: Manage accessible certification routes, such as AQA Unit Awards, to ensure learner progress is formally recognised and celebrated.
- Inclusive Support: Champion Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) frameworks and trauma-informed risk assessments to ensure a safe and dignified environment.
Essential Requirements
- Extensive SEND Background: Substantial experience as a Teacher or Tutor working with autistic individuals and those with profound or complex learning needs.
- Curriculum Mastery: Deep knowledge of functional skills progression and a proven ability to map learning to EHCP outcomes.
- Leadership Capability: Experience in supervising or mentoring staff, with the organizational skills to manage deadlines and delegating effectively.
- Sensory Expertise: Proficiency in structured, sensory-based teaching methodologies and a robust understanding of safeguarding protocols.
- Holistic Care: A willingness to support learners with personal care needs in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Desirable: QTS, QTLS, or an Adult Teaching qualification; knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act (2005).
