We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic educator to join a supportive secondary school in Blackpool and inspire students to excel in both disciplines. This role is a Part-time role starting Janurary 2026 excellent opportunity to kick start the new year and make a significant impact by shaping students' practical skills and creative thinking.This is a Partime role.
Roles & Responsibilities
As the DT and Food Technology Teacher, your duties will include:
Curriculum Delivery: Planning and delivering engaging and practical lessons in both DT and Food Technology to students across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and potentially A-Level.
Student Development: Fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to explore their creativity and develop practical skills in a safe and supportive setting.
Health & Safety: Ensuring a high standard of health and safety is maintained in all workshops and food preparation areas.
Assessment: Evaluating student progress and providing constructive feedback to help them improve their practical and design skills.
Collaboration: Working effectively with colleagues and support staff to ensure a cohesive and well-rounded learning experience for all students.
Extracurricular Activities: Contributing to the school's enrichment program by running extracurricular clubs or supporting student projects.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
Proven experience teaching both DT and Food Technology at the secondary school level.
A strong specialism in Food Technology, with in-depth knowledge of food preparation, nutrition, and safety standards.
Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
A genuine passion for practical education and a commitment to student success.
