As a DT Teacher, you will be delivering practical and theory-based lessons to KS3 and KS4 students across various DT specialisms. You will guide students through the design process, encourage problem-solving and creativity, and help them develop the skills to turn ideas into functional and impressive outcomes. You'll be responsible for preparing resources, maintaining a safe workshop/classroom environment, and inspiring students through real-world applications and projects.

Key Duties:

• Teach DT across Key Stage 3 and 4 (product design, graphics, textiles or food technology).
• Plan and deliver engaging practical and theory lessons.
• Prepare materials and ensure health and safety compliance in all practical work.
• Encourage innovation, critical thinking, and independence.
• Support students through project-based assessments and coursework.
• Contribute to enrichment activities and school events.

Skills and Requirements:

• UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching DT in UK secondary schools.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply).
• modelling and manufacturing.
• Encourages creativity and lateral thinking through open-ended design tasks.
• Working knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment.
• Practical workshop experience and classroom management skills.
