Summary of Job
Lead the Trafford Council Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Team, ensuring the service operates to the highest standard and meets its statutory obligations under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 Schedule A1.
Play a key role in the continuous improvement of the service, ensuring it remains high-performing, legally compliant, and person-centred.
Provide managerial oversight, leadership, and quality assurance for DoLS authorisations.
Work in a hybrid model, with two required office days per week, one of which is a Tuesday.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure the council's DoLS obligations are met to the highest standard in accordance with all legal frameworks.
Support the delivery and continuous improvement of the DoLS Team, guaranteeing it remains responsive and legally compliant.
Provide exemplary managerial oversight and leadership, fostering a collaborative and best-practice-oriented team environment.
Maximise team resources while actively seeking new ways of working in partnership with stakeholders.
Take responsibility for quality assuring and approving all DoLS authorisations.
