The Role: Part-Time Drama Teacher
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Drama Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in the Leeds area. This is a part-time position, starting as soon as possible (ASAP), providing an exciting opportunity to contribute to a successful Performing Arts faculty. The role involves preparing and delivering engaging Drama lessons to students across key stages, fostering a love for the subject, and supporting their academic and personal development through performance.

Requirements:

- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the current Drama curriculum.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.

- Assessment & Feedback: Providing constructive and detailed critiques of work.
- Resource Development: Creating engaging and varied lesson materials.
- Directing & Blocking: Guiding student actors in spatial awareness and movement.
- Creativity & Innovation: Injecting new and exciting ideas into the curriculum.
- Time Management: Efficiently planning lessons and managing rehearsal schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Lesson Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated Drama lessons to various key stages.
- Assessment: Mark and assess student work, providing timely and constructive feedback to drive progress.
- Extracurricular: Contribute to the school's extra-curricular provision, potentially running a drama club or supporting productions.
- Safeguarding: Uphold the school's stringent safeguarding policies and promote student well-being at all times.
- Data Analysis: Monitor student progress and use data to inform future planning and intervention strategies.
- Curriculum Development: Assist the Head of Department in developing and enhancing the Drama curriculum.
- Communication: Liaise effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and concerns.
- Professional Development: Proactively participate in school and departmental training and self-improvement.
- Resource Management: Ensure the Drama teaching spaces and resources are well-maintained and used effectively.
