About the Role:
A vibrant and forward-thinking secondary school in the East Grinstead area is seeking to appoint a passionate and innovative Design and Technology Teacher to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective DT lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential for Key Stage 5 teaching for suitably qualified applicants.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a thriving department and inspire students to explore their creativity and develop practical skills in areas such as product design, resistant materials, graphics, or textiles, depending on your specialism. You will play a key role in curriculum development, ensuring our DT provision remains current, exciting, and relevant to all students.
We are looking for a teacher who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
- Has a relevant degree in Design and Technology or a related subject.
- Possesses a genuine passion for Design and Technology and the ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
- Can demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and a commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.
- Is able to create a stimulating and supportive learning environment.
- Has experience of teaching DT at secondary school level (ECTs are welcome to apply and will be supported by an excellent induction programme).
- Is a strong classroom practitioner with effective behaviour management skills.
- Is a collaborative team player, keen to share best practices and contribute to the wider school community.
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
