Job Title: Electrician - Street Lighting
Location: Sittingbourne, Kent
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Duration: Ongoing (temporary contract)
Pay Rate: £140 - £180 per day (dependent on qualifications and pay type; PAYE, Umbrella PAYE or CIS)
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Street Light Operative for an immediate start on a street lighting maintenance and installation contract in Sittingbourne.
Key Responsibilities
- Street lighting column removal and erection.
- Other street lighting furniture (eg Bollards and signposts)
- Working collaboratively within traffic management
- May be expected to put out their own chapter 8
- Private connections and terminating
- Excavation and reinstatement - making pathway/verge good
Requirements
- HERS Card / ECS Card (Highway Electrical Registration Scheme essential)
- Slinger / Signaller qualification preferrable
- NRSWA
- G39 Certificate (Working safely near electricity supply networks preferred).
- Safety Critical Medical certification
- First Aid training
- Manual handling training
- Full UK Driving Licence (C1 / HGV Category C is a plus).
- Full PPE (Steel toe boots, high-vis jacket/trousers, hard hat, and gloves).
- Right to work in the UK
