Emergency Duty Team Social Worker: Gateshead Council
Gateshead Council is seeking a passionate and skilled Social Worker to join our Emergency Duty Team. This is a crucial role for a resilient and committed individual who is ready to provide out-of-hours support and respond to urgent social care needs. This is a unique opportunity to provide critical support to some of our community's most vulnerable members. We offer a competitive rate of £29 per hour.
Roles & Responsibilities
Conducting timely and comprehensive assessments of all new referrals received after hours.
Implementing and executing emergency care plans to protect children and young people at immediate risk of harm.
Liaising with and collaborating effectively with partner agencies, including police and health services.
Managing a dynamic and complex caseload, including children in need of immediate protection and mental health concerns.
Documenting all interventions and decisions accurately and meticulously, ensuring a seamless handover to day-time services.
Responding to crises with calm professionalism and sound clinical judgment.
Key Requirements
You must be a qualified Social Worker with a recognized social work qualification.
Current registration with Social Work England is essential.
An updated Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check is required.
Proven experience in a fast-paced, high-pressure social work environment is highly desirable.
