On behalf of an encouraging secondary school in Biggleswade, Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join a thriving department from September 2026. This role is ideal for a teacher who loves bringing classic and contemporary texts to life and wants to make a lasting impact on students' literacy and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Inspiring Lessons: Plan and teach engaging English Language and Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4 (GCSE), aligned with the UK National Curriculum.
- Full Teaching Ownership: Take responsibility for the full academic cycle, including lesson preparation, constructive marking, and tracking student attainment to support progress.
- Encourage Critical Thinking: Create a stimulating classroom environment where pupils feel confident expressing their interpretations, debating ideas, and expanding their vocabulary.
- Support Diverse Needs: Tailor your teaching strategies to stretch high achievers while offering structured support for pupils building their foundational literacy skills.
- Departmental Involvement: Contribute to departmental meetings, assist in refining schemes of work, and support extra-curricular literacy initiatives or reading clubs.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a articulate, creative educator with a genuine love for language and literature.
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS (Early Career Teachers are warmly encouraged to apply).
- Demonstrated experience delivering English Language and Literature within a UK secondary school setting.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain high standards of behaviour and student engagement.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for building positive relationships with pupils, parents, and departmental peers.
- Holds an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or readiness to process one through Randstad).
