Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Inspiring Lessons: As an impactful English Teacher, you will plan and teach engaging English Language and Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4 (GCSE), aligned with the UK National Curriculum.
- Full Curriculum Ownership: Take charge of full class responsibilities, including lesson preparation, constructive marking, and tracking student attainment to boost academic outcomes.
- Cultivate Communication Skills: Create a dynamic learning environment where pupils feel confident exploring complex texts, debating ideas, and refining their written expression.
- Differentiate Learning: Adapt instruction effectively to challenge high achievers while providing structured support for students developing core literacy skills.
- Departmental Support: Work alongside departmental peers to refine schemes of work, share resources, and support extra-curricular literacy initiatives or revision sessions.
Candidate Profile
We are searching for an articulate, creative English Teacher with strong subject knowledge and excellent classroom leadership.
- Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS.
- Proven track record of working as an English Teacher within a UK secondary school setting.
- Outstanding communication skills to engage pupils of all abilities and foster high standards.
- Effective classroom management strategies grounded in positive encouragement and clear boundaries.
- Holds an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or a willingness to process one through Randstad).
