At Randstad Education, we are looking for a long term English teacher to join one of our schools we are supporting in the Birmingham area. We are looking for somebody who is creative, passionate and has excellent behaviour management skills. We are looking for both full time and part time English teachers, we can therefore offer that flexibilitypart time work can offer.

Core Duties
- Lesson Planning: Creating engaging and effective lesson plans that align with the curriculum. This includes selecting appropriate texts, designing activities, and preparing materials to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
- Delivering Instruction: Leading classroom sessions, which involves explaining complex concepts, facilitating discussions, and modeling strong reading, writing, and speaking skills.
Assessment and Feedback: Evaluating student work-such as essays, creative writing, and exams-and providing constructive feedback. This helps students understand their strengths and areas for improvement.
Classroom Management: Maintaining a positive, disciplined, and organised learning environment where all students feel safe and are motivated to participate.
Additional Responsibilities
- Curriculum Development: Contributing to the development and review of the school's English curriculum to ensure it is relevant, inclusive, and up-to-date.
- Pastoral Care: Offering support and guidance to students, addressing any personal or academic concerns they may have. This can involve working with parents and other staff members.
- Professional Development: Staying current with new teaching methodologies and subject-specific knowledge by attending training sessions and workshops.
- Extracurricular Activities: Organising or supervising activities such as drama clubs, debate teams, or a school newspaper to enrich the students learning experiences outside of the classroom.
The successful candidate will have:
- The qualifications needed for this role (QTS)
- Experience of teaching English to a high standard
- Will hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or willing to apply for one.
- You must have the legal right to work in the UK
