We are seeking a dynamic and adaptable Qualified English Teacher (QTS) to join our partner Secondary School in Bury St Edmunds. As a leading education agency, Randstad is managing this full-time, temporary assignment to ensure continuity of high-quality education for the school's pupils. This role offers an immediate start and is ideal for an experienced teacher seeking standard-to-scale daily pay without long-term permanent commitments, or an ECT looking to sharpen their skills within a highly supportive, collaborative English department.
Your Responsibilities
- Curriculum Excellence: Deliver engaging, high-quality English Language and Literature lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, fostering a deep appreciation for diverse texts.
- GCSE Preparation: Guide Year 11 cohorts through their exam specifications, utilising targeted interventions and sharp feedback to maximise student confidence and academic performance.
- Inclusive Adaptive Teaching: Tailor lessons to challenge high-attaining pupils while implementing clear scaffolding and support for students with SEN or differing literacy levels.
- Classroom Management: Quickly establish positive, respectful relationships with new classes, maintaining an organised and focused environment for learning.
- Assessment & Collaboration: Carry out necessary planning, marking, and assessment duties, working in close alignment with the permanent faculty to maintain consistent progress tracking.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) / QTLS: Mandatory. A degree in English Literature, Language, or a closely related discipline.
- Agency-Ready Adaptability: The professional confidence to hit the ground running, integrate seamlessly into a new department, and manage a full-time timetable.
- Strong Subject Knowledge: A thorough understanding of the current UK National Curriculum and standard GCSE exam specifications (e.g., AQA, Edexcel).

- Compliance: An enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to process a new one via Randstad).
