A well-established Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Failsworth is seeking a passionate and resilient English Teacher to join its dedicated team. This PRU provides tailored education for pupils who require smaller class sizes, personalised support, and a trauma-informed approach. Staff work closely together to create a safe, structured and nurturing atmosphere where every pupil can grow academically, emotionally and socially.
The RoleAs an English Teacher, you will:
Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4
Teach small groups of learners with varied needs
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
Create a calm, structured and motivating learning environment
Use behaviour-supportive strategies and restorative practices
Work collaboratively with a supportive multidisciplinary team
Contribute to curriculum development and pupil progress planning
QTS or QTLS (experienced or confident ECTs considered)
Strong subject knowledge in English
Experience in PRU, alternative provision, SEMH, or similar settings (desirable but not essential)
A calm, empathetic and resilient approach
Ability to adapt teaching to individual needs
