We are seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join our growing provision in Peterborough, which specialises in offering an alternative to mainstream education. You will be instrumental in delivering the curriculum in small class groups, ensuring every student receives the individual attention and care they need to succeed.
Main Duties:
- Curriculum & Teaching: Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated English lessons from KS3 upwards, ensuring student progression and maintaining effective classroom discipline.
- Skill Development: Teach basic skills in other subjects as required, supporting a holistic approach to student learning.
- Assessment & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of progress, conduct regular assessments, and report back to parents.
- Pastoral Care: Act as a form tutor, manage student behaviour positively, and provide essential pastoral support to foster personal, emotional, and academic growth.
- Wider Contribution: Contribute to the Enrichment Programme, attend meetings, and actively support the school's aims and safeguarding procedures.
About You: The Dedicated Educator
You are an experienced professional with the essential skills and commitment to excel in an alternative education setting.
- Qualified: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experienced: Proven experience teaching English at KS3 and above, with the flexibility to deliver basic skills in other subjects.
- Skilled Practitioner: Possess strong subject knowledge, excellent classroom management skills, and the ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities.
- Organised: Effective communicator with strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Committed: Dedicated to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of all children and young persons, and willing to submit an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check (DBS) and complete Child Protection Training.
