The Role & Responsibilities
We are recruiting an exceptional Secondary English Teacher to deliver high-quality, engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4).
- Curriculum Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver high-impact English Language and English Literature lessons to students aged 11-16.
- Assessment: Utilise formative and summative assessment strategies to drive student progress and raise attainment levels in line with GCSE specifications.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, inclusive, and productive learning environment in Plymouth-based schools.
- Departmental Collaboration: (For Long-Term roles) Take ownership of full timetables, contribute to schemes of work, handle detailed marking, and participate in whole-school life, including form tutor duties.

The Ideal Candidate (Requirements)
To pass both Google's filters and school screening processes, you must possess:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification.
- A relevant degree in English, English Literature, or a closely related humanities field.
- Recent, demonstrable experience teaching the UK National Curriculum at KS3 and KS4 GCSE level.
- Strong classroom management, organisational skills, and a passion for raising student attainment.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
- An absolute commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.
