We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Finishing Foreman/Foreperson to join a critical mental health facility refurbishment project. This role is perfect for a professional who prides themselves on delivering high-quality clinical environments where precision and safety are paramount.
The Project
- Sector: Healthcare (Mental Health Refurbishment)
- Duration: July 2026 - January 2027
- Location: Middlesbrough
- Rate: £24-£25 per hour CIS
As the Finishing Foreman/Foreperson, you will be the driving force behind the final stages of the project. Working within a live hospital environment, you will ensure that every room meets the rigorous standards required for mental health care, focusing on anti-ligature finishes, durability, and clinical compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Control: Manage the "final fix" stages, ensuring all works meet high-end healthcare specifications.
- Subcontractor Management: Coordinate and oversee specialist trades to ensure they adhere to the project timeline and quality standards.
- Snagging: Take full ownership of the snagging list, proactively identifying issues and driving them to completion.
- Programme Delivery: Work closely with the Site Manager to ensure all deadlines are met ahead of the January handover.
- Health & Safety: Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to strict hospital protocols and infection control measures.
Candidate Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- SMSTS or SSSTS
- CSCS Card (Gold or Black preferred)
- Hospital Experience: Previous experience working on healthcare or mental health refurbishments is mandatory.
Preferred Skills:
- A meticulous eye for detail regarding finishes and anti-ligature requirements.
- Strong communication skills to manage subcontractors and interface with hospital stakeholders.
- The ability to work efficiently under pressure to meet fixed programme dates.
