Design Technology / Food Technology Teacher - Knowsley
Job Specification
We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Design Technology / Food Technology Teacher for a long-term placement at a school in Knowsley. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality education and inspiring students in these subjects.
This position is scheduled to begin in September 2025, with the possibility of trial shifts being arranged prior to the summer break. The role is open to applicants at all career stages, including newly qualified teachers (NQTs), and offers a competitive salary paid weekly.
Responsibilities:
- Teach Design Technology and Food Technology to students up to Key Stage 4 / GCSE level.
- Develop and implement effective lesson plans tailored to a range of student abilities.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental and school-wide objectives.
- Maintain and enforce high standards of classroom behaviour in accordance with school policies.
- Monitor and report on student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Attend all required meetings, parents' evenings, and INSET days.
Candidate Requirements:
- A relevant undergraduate degree is essential.
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or actively working towards QTS. Overseas-trained teachers are also encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrated proficiency in classroom management and lesson delivery.
- Robust subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Design Technology and Food Technology.
- A background or interest in Engineering is highly desirable.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check and professional referencing.
