Fostering Assessor
Are you an accomplished and dedicated Social Worker looking for a rewarding self-employed opportunity?
Our clients are actively seeking Independent Social Workers across the country to undertake comprehensive fostering assessments. This is a chance to utilise your expertise to assess and recommend prospective foster carers, playing a crucial role in safeguarding the futures of vulnerable children and young people. The role offers the flexibility to manage your own caseload and schedule, with the choice of undertaking either Form F or Form C assessments. The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional with a passion for ensuring the highest standards of care.
Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct in-depth Form F (general fostering), Form C (Connected Persons) and/or Special Guardianship Order (SGO) assessments.
Interview prospective foster carers and all household members, gathering comprehensive information.
Liaise with various agencies and professionals to complete all statutory checks and references.
Analyse and interpret complex information to produce high-quality, evidence-based reports.
Present assessments to the Fostering Panel, confidently articulating your recommendation.
Maintain accurate and detailed records in line with agency policies and regulations.
Provide support and guidance to applicants throughout the assessment process.
Summary of the role
This is a freelance position offering a competitive fee per assessment, with the autonomy to manage your own workload.
The successful candidate will:
- Be a qualified and registered Social Worker with significant post-qualifying experience in family placement & fostering.
- Have experience in completing Form F, Form C or SGO assessments.
- Have a strong knowledge of fostering regulations, child care law, and safeguarding issues is essential.
