As a Geography Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, covering both physical and human geography. You'll develop creative schemes of work that encourage analytical thinking, spatial awareness, and environmental responsibility.
The role involves planning and adapting lessons for mixed-ability classes, using a variety of teaching strategies. There will be opportunities to contribute to school trips and enrichment activities linked to the geography curriculum.
Key Duties:
- Deliver well-structured and stimulating Geography lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Plan creative and differentiated lesson content.
- Mark and assess work in line with school policy and provide feedback.
- Maintain excellent behaviour for learning in the classroom.
- Liaise with colleagues, attend department meetings, and share best practice.
- Support whole-school events and contribute to enrichment activities.
- Use assessments to inform planning and track pupil progress.
Skills and Qualifications:
- UK QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching secondary Geography (PGCE students welcome).
- DBS on update service or willingness to obtain one.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Passion for geographical education and enrichment.
- Knowledge of current curriculum requirements and assessments.
