Want to take pride in the green spaces that bring communities together?
Our Grounds Maintenance team is responsible for the cyclical upkeep of communal areas across our diverse estates-from market rent and shared ownership properties to independent living communities. We believe our external spaces and trees play a massive part in our communities, promoting health, wellbeing, and offsetting our carbon footprint.
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and driven Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our team on a 4-month temporary contract. If you love working outdoors, have a great eye for detail, and take pride in putting a smile back on customers' faces, we want to hear from you!
Your New Role
Working within a supportive team, you will have the flexibility to plan your own workload within a fortnightly round. Your daily tasks will include:
Estate Upkeep: Maintaining external communal areas, including grass cutting, shrub care, and hedge trimming.
Landscaping & Tree Care: Undertaking soft landscaping and minor, non-complex tree work to protect and retain our local canopy.
Reactive Works: Responding quickly to unexpected estate hazards-ranging from clearing dumped items (fly-tipping) to snow clearance at our independent living blocks during winter weather.
Tech-Enabled Working: Utilizing a company-provided tablet and mobile phone to track and manage your daily tasks.
What We're Looking For
Experience: Practical, hands-on knowledge and experience in amenity horticulture.
Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence is essential (a towing licence is highly desirable).
Certifications (Desirable): Valid PA1 and PA6AW (weed spraying) qualifications or NPTC tree/chainsaw certifications are a big plus, but not essential.
Soft Skills: You are a proactive team player, a great communicator, and an independent worker who takes pride in a "job well done."
What We Provide to Help You Succeed
We make sure you have the exact kit you need to crack on with what you do best from day one:
A fully equipped Company Van (fitted with a van vault, secure racking, and an inverter).
Fuel card, professional uniform, and all required safety PPE.
Company tablet and mobile phone.
The Benefits
Even on a temporary contract, you will be a valued member and entitled to great benefits from your first day:
28 days holiday per year (pro-rata).
Generous pension scheme and life assurance.
Access to comprehensive health and wellbeing packages.
Community Connection: Monthly trade talks where you can connect with the wider team, share processes, and stay updated on what's going on across the organization.
