Want to take pride in the green spaces that bring communities together? We have an exciting opportunity for two enthusiastic, self-motivated Grounds Maintenance Operatives to join our team on a 4-month temporary contract (with a strong likelihood of extension or permanency).
Our Grounds Maintenance team is responsible for the cyclical upkeep of communal areas across our diverse housing estates-spanning market rent properties, shared ownership homes, and independent living communities. If you love working outdoors, possess a sharp eye for detail, and take pride in delivering excellent service to residents, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Estate Upkeep: Perform cyclical maintenance of external communal areas, including precise grass cutting, shrub care, and hedge trimming.
- Landscaping & Canopy Care: Undertake soft landscaping projects and minor, non-complex tree work to protect, maintain, and expand the local canopy.
- Reactive Work & Hazard Clearance: Respond promptly to unexpected estate hazards, such as clearing fly-tipped/dumped items or handling snow clearance at independent living blocks during winter weather.
- Tech-Enabled Operations: Utilize a company-provided tablet and mobile phone to track schedules, manage workloads, and update daily task completions seamlessly.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: Practical, hands-on knowledge and experience working in amenity horticulture or commercial grounds maintenance.
- Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence is essential (a towing / BE licence category is highly desirable).
- Certifications (Desirable): Valid PA1 and PA6AW (weed spraying) qualifications, or NPTC tree/chainsaw certificates are highly advantageous but not mandatory.
- Key Attributes: A proactive team player with clear communication skills who can work independently and take genuine pride in a job well done.
What We Offer & Benefits
From day one, you will be equipped with everything you need to succeed, including a fully kitted company van (fitted with a secure van vault, custom racking, and an inverter), a fuel card, a modern uniform, tablet, phone, and complete safety PPE.
- Paid Time Off: 28 days annual leave per year (pro-rata).
- Financial Security: Generous pension scheme and life assurance protection from your first day.
