We have a fixed term Head of project performance and controls role available within Tata Steel's Port Talbot works. This position will allow you to be part of a historic, unique engineering project, also known as 'Project Invictus'.
The successful applicant will be an individual who holds substantial tenure within Senior Leadership on large scale UK based infrastructure and/or energy projects. Only applicants with UK based experience, degree education in related subject and track record managing multi-million pound projects will be considered.
Role: Head of project performance and controls
Location: Tata Steel, Port Talbot works, Swansea, SA13 2NG
Package: £80,00-£130,000 salary (negotiable and based upon experience)
Company car or company car allowance, private healthcare and Tatas pension scheme (10% employer contribution against 6% employee contribution)
Contract length: Opportunity for a permanent contract or FTC of two years
Start: ASAP but pending the successful result of a medical assessment, which does include a Drug and Alcohol test
Essential requirements:
- Senior Leadership experience in project controls within large scale UK based infrastructure projects (3+ years)
- Strong knowledge of planning and scheduling tools, in particular Primavera P6
- Advanced knowledge and experience with document control, cost control, forecasting, risk management and earned value management
- Proven experience influencing decisions and interpreting data
- Profound verbal and written communication skill
- Prior experience managing multi million pound budgets
- Familiarity with UK NEC and FIDIC Contracts
- Good level of IT literacy including MS Office
- UK Driving Licence
Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining project controls frameworks which cover: costs, schedules, risks, changes, document control and performance reporting
- Standardising tools, processes and templates across the project
- Establishing cost and schedule baselines
- Deploying cost estimating, forecasting and earned value management
- Using Primavera P6 to conduct schedule tracking
- Implementing risk and opportunity management processes that can withstand the demands of the project
- Leading change control
- Delivering daily, weekly and monthly performance reports including variance analysis and executive dashboards
- Presenting findings to senior stakeholders within the business and project
- Leading and mentoring a team of cost controllers, schedulers, risk analysts and document controllers
- Collaborating with procurement, finance, engineering and supply chain teams
- Representing project controls at governance forums and audits
- Supporting tender submissions via cost modelling, schedule planning and risk estimation
