This role involves teaching, curriculum development, collaboration with other staff, and ensuring the student's access to a high-quality education. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and experienced teacher, proficient in using various communication methods, including BSL.
This is a permanent position and you will be required to support five days a week Monday - Friday inline with school hours.

Responsibilities:
- Improve outcomes and learning access for D/deaf and hearing-impaired students.
- Motivate and engage students with a focus on high achievement.
- Passionate about supporting young people and making a lasting impact.
- Committed to growth through ongoing development and collaboration.
- Support inclusion with SSC staff and teachers.
- Differentiate materials for hearing-impaired students.
- Use BSL/SSE and build vocabulary resources.
- Help track student progress, support interventions, and contribute to targets and Annual Reviews.
- Assist in managing amplification needs and proper use of audiological equipment.
- Prepare resources for 1:1 pre-teaching and post-teaching sessions.
- Participate in professional development to stay updated.
Preferred Skills:
- Be proficient in teaching Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Hold BSL Level 2, 3, or 6 (all department staff are BSL trained).
- Apply a Total Communication approach in the classroom.
- Demonstrate strong motivation, engagement skills, and a focus on achievement.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience in a sensory support centre is highly desirable.
Personal Attributes:
- Be comfortable and confident in managing challenging behaviours.
- Ability to engage with, and build rapport with the students.
- Be creative, proactive and flexible in their supporting style.
- Have experience with SEN or knowledge learning difficulties.
- Demonstrate strong motivation, engagement skills, and a focus on achievement.
- Be highly organised, with excellent record-keeping.
