Head of SEO - Digital Marketing Agency
My digital marketing agency client is looking for an experienced Head of SEO to join their team on a permanent basis.
This is a senior role so you MUST have worked as Head of SEO in a digital marketing agency environment.
Essential Experience
- Three to five years of SEO experience in an agency environment.
- Working knowledge of GEO, AI Search and LLM optimisation, or willingness to rapidly Upskill.
- Strong technical SEO, on-page optimisation and content strategy skills.
- Experience managing multiple clients and stakeholders.
- Proficiency with GSC, GA4, Ahrefs, SEMRush and Screaming Frog.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Understanding of PPC, Paid Social or wider digital strategy
- UX knowledge
Key Duties
Strategy and Delivery
- Develop and implement SEO and GEO strategies aligned with client business objectives across multiple accounts.
- Conduct technical audits covering site architecture, crawling and indexing, page speed, and structured data. Translate findings into prioritised roadmaps with clear actions and Timelines.
- Execute on-page optimisation, technical implementations, and content strategy recommendations.
- Work directly within CMS platforms where required.
- Analyse competitor landscapes and identify strategic opportunities for organic growth.
- Stay current with algorithm updates, AI search developments, and LLM optimisation.
Client Management
- Serve as the primary SEO contact for all clients in the portfolio. Build relationships based on trust, transparency, and consistent results.
- Educate clients on SEO best practices and provide strategic guidance on organic search decisions
Performance and Reporting
- Monitor rankings, visibility, traffic, and conversion data. Identify trends, opportunities, and areas requiring optimisation.
- Build reports focused on results and ROI, not vanity metrics. Deliver monthly and quarterly performance reviews that guide next steps.
- Define and track KPIs that demonstrate the business impact of SEO activity.
Agency Contribution
- Develop SEO processes, templates, and documentation Support new business pitches with SEO insights, competitor analysis, and strategic Recommendations.
- Collaborate with PPC, Paid Social, and Creative teams to integrate SEO into broader marketing initiatives.
