Highly Specialist Psychologist or Psychological Therapist based in Birstall, West Yorkshire, with travel required to sites in Leeds and Huddersfield.
The role involves providing long-term, intensive psychological care for young people with severe mental health disorders, emerging personality disorders, and complex trauma within a residential setting.
## Key Responsibilities
Clinical Caseload: Managing a small, specialist caseload of young people (typically 12-18 month placements), providing assessment, formulation, and integrative treatments.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Working alongside psychiatrists, nurse specialists, and residential teams to manage risk and support a service model focused on resilience and independence.
Consultation & Training: Integrating psychological knowledge into the residential environment by training staff and providing expert consultation to non-psychological colleagues.
Service Development: Engaging in research, audits, and policy development to improve the innovative service model.
## Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Doctoral level training in Clinical, Counselling, Forensic, or Health Psychology, OR a registered health qualification (Nursing, Social Work, etc.) with post-graduate specialization in a psychological therapy.
Registration: Current HCPC registration (or equivalent professional body accreditation).
Experience: * Minimum 12 months post-qualification experience (though Band 7 preceptorship applicants are considered).
At least 6 months of clinical experience in Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS).
Experience with complex presentations such as eating disorders, personality disorders, or complex trauma.
Skills: A full UK driving license is required for travel between sites.
## Compensation and Benefits
Salary: £47,307 - £62,029.50 (depending on experience and banding).
Working Pattern: Full-time (37.5 hours), Monday-Friday, with flexible working options.
