We are seeking a high-calibre Humanities Teacher with a proven track record in special education to join our founding team. This is a unique opportunity to help establish the pedagogical roots of a brand-new school which opened in September 2025 in Chaldon, Surrey. If you have deep expertise in autism and a passion for making complex historical and geographical concepts accessible, we want to hear from you.

The Package

• Salary: £34,398 - £48,913 per year (M1 - UPS1 Fringe)

• Bonus: £5,000 Welcome Bonus for Qualified Teachers

• Contract: Full-time, Permanent

• Hours: 40 hours per week (Early 4:00 PM finish on Fridays)

• Location: Chaldon, Surrey

Key Responsibilities

• Advanced Differentiation: Deliver high-quality teaching for pupils with autism and multiple learning difficulties, ensuring the curriculum meets their physical and social needs.

• EHCP Leadership: Contribute to the review of Statements, EHC plans, PEPs, and LAC reviews.

• Strategic Planning: Maintain and use short, medium, and long-term plans to deliver a structured and motivating learning environment.

• Specialist Awareness: Maintain an overall awareness of current issues in the field of autism to plan effective, non-confrontational teaching.

• Mentorship: Supervise support staff and provide professional support to other teachers within your subject area.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): PGCE or equivalent is essential.

• SEND Expertise: Significant experience delivering a differentiated curriculum to pupils with autism and complex needs.

• Clinical Insight: Knowledge and understanding of autism and associated co-morbid conditions.

• Resilience: Ability to remain calm and reflective when working in a challenging environment.

• Mobility: A driving license is highly desirable due to limited public transport and the potential requirement to work at our satellite site in Caterham.
