Are you seeking a high-impact, full-time temporary role within a vibrant secondary school that values the Humanities as the lens through which we understand our world?
We are seeking a dynamic and intellectually curious Humanities Teacher for a full-time, long-term temporary position at our partner Secondary School in Clapham. - GCSE Preparation: Support Year 11 cohorts in their chosen Humanities disciplines, utilising assessment data to provide targeted feedback and exam-focused interventions.
- Cultural Literacy: Link classroom topics to current global events, helping students in the diverse Clapham community see the relevance of the Humanities in their daily lives.
- Collaborative Planning: Work within a supportive department to share resources and contribute to the development of inquiry-based schemes of work.
- Active Participation: Engage fully in the life of the school, including departmental meetings, parent evenings (where applicable), and the school's pastoral systems.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) / QTLS: Mandatory. A degree in History, Geography, Sociology, or a related Humanities subject.
- Versatility: The ability to teach at least two of the core Humanities subjects to GCSE level with confidence and accuracy.
- Classroom Presence: A proactive approach to behaviour management that builds mutual respect and maintains a high-energy learning environment.
- Adaptability: The resilience to thrive in a fast-paced South West London school and the flexibility to adjust your teaching style to meet the needs of a diverse student body.
- Compliance: An enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to process a new one via Randstad).
